James A. Butz | President, CEO
Jim Butz is the President and CEO of Jefferson Apartment Group. Mr. Butz manages all acquisitions, development, construction, management and sales activities of all apartment, mixed-use and for-sale communities. Prior to forming Jefferson Apartment Group, Mr. Butz was the President and Managing Partner for JPI East, which encompassed real estate operations within the Mid-Atlantic, New England and Southeast United States JPI offices.
Mr. Butz has over 25 years' experience in the real estate development industry focusing primarily on for-rent and for-sale multifamily communities. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University with a BA in Business Administration, Finance and Economics. He is currently on the Executive Committee of the National Multifamily Housing Council and the NAHB Multifamily Leadership Board, a member of ULI and active in a variety of local real estate and charitable organizations. Jim is married and has three children.
Gregory G. Lamb | Executive Vice President, Partner
Greg Lamb is the Executive Vice President and Managing Partner at Jefferson Apartment Group. Mr. Lamb’s responsibilities include oversight of all aspects of site acquisition, development, construction, leasing and sales. Prior to forming Jefferson Apartment Group, Mr. Lamb was the Executive Vice President and Regional Managing Partner for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Office of JPI, located in McLean, Virginia.
Prior to joining JPI in 2000, Mr. Lamb served as Vice President of Multifamily Development for KSI Services in Vienna, Virginia, where he specialized in opportunistic acquisitions, rehabilitations and tax credit projects in Maryland and Virginia. Mr. Lamb is a graduate of Tulane University with a BA in Economics and a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate and Urban Development from the American University in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the National Association of Home Builders Multifamily Leadership Council and a member of the Maryland National Capital Building Industry Association, where he serves as a member of the Multifamily Housing Committee. Mr. Lamb is married and has three children.
L. Robert Timmins | Sr. Vice President, Construction Partner
Mr. Timmins is the Senior Vice President and Construction Partner of Jefferson Apartment Group headquartered in McLean, Virginia. Mr. Timmins has 19 years of related industry experience. In addition to leadership responsibilities and business unit profitability, Mr. Timmins is responsible for providing the vision and organizational structure for the construction company. This includes personnel and leadership development for company team members, as well as pre-construction, coordination, scheduling, quality and risk management of
company projects from feasibility to project completion and close-out.
Prior to joining Jefferson Apartment Group, Mr. Timmins was the Senior Vice President and Construction Partner at the JPI East Mid-Atlantic office, where he was responsible for the successful completion of 32 communities in the Mid-Atlantic region. During his tenure with JPI East, Mr. Timmins oversaw the completion of over 11,000 units totaling in volume and over two billion dollars of project costs.
Mr. Timmins received a BS degree in Building Construction from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech.). He is currently a member of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA), National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), and Washington Building Congress (WBC). Bob is married and has two children.
James N. Duncan | Senior Vice President, Partner 
James N. Duncan is Senior Vice President and Partner for Jefferson Apartment Group headquartered in McLean, VA. Mr. Duncan’s responsibilities include oversight of project acquisitions, dispositions, equity and debt financings and the asset management and property management disciplines for the company.
Prior to joining JAG, Mr. Duncan served as Senior Vice President and Managing Partner for JPI’s Eastern Division. He directed an $850 million portfolio of multifamily assets located in the Mid Atlantic and New England. While at JPI, Mr. Duncan headed the formation of the company’s regional condominium business, acquisition platform, and retail operations. During his twelve-year career at JPI, Mr. Duncan managed the disposition of one billion dollars in assets.
Prior to joining JPI in 1998, he served as an Asset Manager for Insignia Financial Group in Greenville, SC, where he oversaw a portfolio of 36 multifamily assets across the United States. Mr. Duncan is a graduate of Furman University with a BA in Accounting. He is a member of the Real Estate Group and has been a featured speaker and panelist at multiple events sponsored by the District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Mr. Duncan is married and has two children.
Patty Holt | Vice President, Property Management
Patty Holt is the Vice President of Property Management for Jefferson Apartment Group. Mrs. Holt has over 15 years of successful experience in the multi-family industry and has held various positions throughout her career to include Community Manager, Regional Trainer, Recruiter, Regional Manager and Director. She has had direct oversight of the lease up, acquisition, and disposition of numerous properties (40+) in Washington, DC, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Minnesota and North Carolina. She also serves as a valuable resource in many of the pre-development decisions regarding programming, design and functionality of new construction buildings.
Prior to joining Jefferson Apartment Group, Mrs. Holt was the Director of Real Estate for the Mid-Atlantic region for Greystar Management Services. In this capacity, she was directly responsible for a portfolio of 26 properties totaling 10,034 units.
Prior to joining Greystar, she served as the Assistant Vice President of Property Management for JPI’s Mid-Atlantic region. During her nine-year career with JPI, she played an instrumental role in all facets of property management operations. Her proven track record and commitment to excellence is visible in her varied portfolio of high-end luxury communities, mid-rises, garden-style, mixed-use assets and the repositioning of value added acquisition communities. She is a graduate of Augustana College, in Rock Island, Illinois where she received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Business Administration. She is a member of the Property Management Association and the Apartment and Office Building Association of Metropolitan Washington (AOBA). Patty is married and has two children.
